MARKO DIMITRIJEVIC
Founder and Chairman
Marko is the founder and chairman of Volta Global. A real estate developer, entrepreneur, investor, photographer, and author, Marko founded Volta Global with the goal of building a transformational real estate group around a philosophy of creating long-term value for our firm, our employees, and the communities in which we operate. Born and raised in Switzerland, he was early to spot and capitalize on opportunities in European self-storage. At Volta Global Marko oversees global strategy, investments, and capital allocation.
Marko spent the early part of his business career managing large securities portfolios in Switzerland and New York. As an entrepreneur, he founded and lead several investment management companies which grew to over $3 billion in assets under management and 50+ employees in the US and Singapore. During that period, Marko was a pioneer of emerging markets investing and was one of the earliest Western investors in China, Russia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Saudi Arabia.
Marko is the author of Frontier Investor: How to Prosper in the Next Emerging Markets, which Michael Spence, Nobel Prize Winner in Economics, hailed as "brilliant” and “a tour de force.” His business insights and interviews have been featured in Time, The Economist, Financial Times, Forbes, Bloomberg, Reuters, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post.
Marko is also an award-winning photographer whose work has been published in numerous magazines including The Sunday Times, Travel + Leisure, Professional Photographer, Ocean Geographic, and many others . He is the author of BIG: Big Animals, Big Emotions, a coffee table book featuring his best wildlife pictures.
Among his community and philanthropic activities, Marko currently serves on the board of The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, and Beneath the Waves. He is a past board member of the Stanford Business School Advisory Board, Miami Science Museum, Pasteur Foundation, and others. Additionally, Marko established the Stanford Graduate School of Business Emerging Markets Innovation Fund and founded the Miami Science Museum Underwater Festival. He has also endowed numerous scholarships.
Marko graduated from the Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC) at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and earned an MBA from Stanford University where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
In addition to photography, Marko enjoys traveling with his wife Shelly, snorkeling, skiing, and paddle boarding.
JEFF EVANS
President
Jeff has over 15 years of experience as an investor, operator, and entrepreneur. As President of Volta Global, Jeff is responsible for strategy and execution of the firm’s activities globally, overseeing all investment, financing, and operations activities.
Jeff also serves as President of the 1Box Group, and was instrumental in the creation of the strategy and growth of Volta Global’s European self-storage platform from a small, two-site portfolio in 2019 to a Pan-European platform with over one million net rentable square feet and 40+ employees in just three years.
Prior to Volta Global, he closely worked with Marko managing several hundred million dollars of investments in both public and private markets. Jeff spent the early part of his career on Wall Street covering global emerging markets and technology, first in investment banking, and then as the lead investment analyst for a long/short hedge fund that grew from $20 million to over $1 billion in assets in three years.
In addition to his investment experience, Jeff was a co-founder and executive officer of a venture-backed educational technology company, where he oversaw the company’s early growth to a $35 million business with customers in over 100 countries, before exiting the business in 2011.
Jeff holds an MBA from Yale University and an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Syntheon, Sentinel Systems, SimpleStorage Mexico, 1Box Netherlands, and 1Box France.
Outside of work, Jeff is an avid reader, tennis player, and hiker, and loves spending time with his wife and their three young kids.
ZACH WUNSCH
Chief Financial Officer
Zach joined Volta Global as the VP of Finance and Accounting and was quickly promoted to CFO. Zach manages the US and international accounting teams and oversees all aspects of the Company’s finance, accounting, cash management, financial reporting, human resources, and back-office operations.
Zach received his BA in Accounting and Information Systems from Queens College and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the State of New York. Prior to joining Volta, Zach was the CFO of a private equity-backed medical supply company focused on pain management modalities. Zach was responsible for all aspects of accounting, finance and human resources as well as managing the complex banking and financing relationships and requirements. Zach also spent five years as the Financial Controller of a private equity-backed medical device manufacturer, where he was integral in the acquisition and integration of multiple entities and was able to realize significant synergies through operational consolidation. Zach spent the early part of his career in public accounting, focusing on both public and private companies in a wide range of industries.
Outside of work, Zach enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, hiking, snowboarding, and spending time with his wife and five children.
LOGAN BURNETT
Vice President - Development & Operations
Logan joined Volta Global as Vice President and now leads the Development and Operations Teams at Volta. While at the firm, he has worked across all domains to identify, underwrite, acquire, finance, construct, and operate projects across multiple real estate asset classes. He has also served as Co-Managing Director of 1BOX Self Storage.
Prior to Volta Global, Logan served as the sponsor and developer for a 90,000 square foot, class-A, Extra Space Storage managed facility in North Carolina where he led all aspects of the development lifecycle. He also previously worked as a Management Consultant at Accenture and served in the US Army.
Logan holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University with a dual degree in Economics and Psychology. Outside of work, Logan and his wife Charlie enjoy golfing, playing tennis, and spending time with their daughter and dog.
RENATO PEDERSEN
Vice President - Investments
Renato joined Volta Global as an investment Analyst and became Vice President of Investments in 2023. Renato is responsible for overseeing and leading the sourcing, structuring and execution of new equity and credit investment opportunities globally alongside the President of the firm.
Prior to Volta Global, Renato worked for one of the largest privately-owned, full service, US national real estate advisory firms, where he assisted with the oversight of a 4.5 million square feet Office and Industrial portfolio in South Florida and worked on various real estate transactions on behalf of some of the largest institutional ownership groups in the world. Renato started his career as the lead investment analyst at a boutique family office in Miami. He has been involved in over $1 billion in transactions throughout his career.
Renato holds a MS in Real Estate and a BA in Economics from Florida International University. Renato currently serves on the FIU Real Estate Council Advisory Board. In his free time, Renato enjoys being a flâneur of sorts, playing tennis, and traveling.
ROBY PAIT
Vice President - Operations
Roby is a seasoned operations leader with over 20 years of experience in retail and self-storage management. He joined Volta Global as Vice President of Operations where he is responsible for all US Self-Storage operations.
Prior to joining Volta Global Roby spent 13 years with Harris Teeter, before transitioning to Storage Asset Management, where he advanced from District Manager to Vice President of Operations. In his VP role, he led operational strategies across multiple regions, contributing to the company's growth and operational efficiency.
Roby believes in empowering people to reach their full potential, emphasizing that success is a team effort. He is deeply motivated by seeing his team thrive, both personally and professionally, and he credits their growth as a key factor in his leadership approach.
Roby graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and is certified to teach K-12 Physical Education. His educational background has shaped his people-first leadership style, fostering mentorship and development.
Outside of work, Roby enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, often out on the water during weekends, making the most of his free time.
ZAK WALTERS
Marketing Director
Zak Walters joined Volta Global as Marketing Director, equipped with an entrepreneurial spirit, self-starter ambition, and a goal-oriented mindset. Thriving on innovation and executing digital marketing strategies at scale, Zak's responsibilities encompass driving value through marketing and nurturing strategic relationships, making him a valuable asset to the team.
Zak holds a Bachelor of Science in New Media Marketing from Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. Before joining Volta Global, his journey led him through several entrepreneurial endeavors, where he achieved significant success. Notably, he played a pivotal role in his own venture, reaching a remarkable valuation of $500,000 in under 4 months, from start-up. Additionally, Zak gained recognition as an artist and founder in the digital art community, where his work has received bids exceeding $25,000 at auction. He also established a thriving media agency that expertly managed over $1 million in advertising spend, underscoring his ability to transform ideas into reality and fuel growth with efficiency. With a diverse background that spans the Healthcare, SaaS, Communications, and Nonprofit sectors, Zak brings a wealth of experience to his role.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Zak is an enthusiastic traveler, exploring global cultures through culinary adventures, playing strategy games, and immersing himself in the world of art and music.
SCOTT CALATO
Director of Revenue Management
Scott began his storage career 7+ years ago in Acquisitions and Operations, overseeing properties in Kansas City, Michigan, Puerto Rico and Oklahoma. He quickly transitioned to overseeing markets in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Mississippi while remaining in Operations. Most recently, he worked in Asset Management for a start-up virtual management company helping it grow from 6 properties to 38 in 2 short years.
Outside of work, Scott is a self-proclaimed “dance dad” to his 2 little girls and enjoys spending his time with them and his wife of 15 years. Scott is also a proud graduate of the University of Florida.
CLÉMENT AUDIBERT
Associate
Clement joined Volta Global as an Investment Analyst and became an Investment Associate in January 2022. Clement is responsible for executing the real estate investment strategy in European and US markets. He helps oversee sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, and acquisition of investment opportunities. He also implements the value-add strategy post-closing in cooperation with the development and operations teams.
Clement holds a Master’s degree in Corporate & Sustainable Finance from Kedge Business School, a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Law from the CNAM Paris, and a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Management from ESPI Paris. Before joining Volta Global, Clement was the lead analyst of several real estate syndications in Florida for an American investment firm raising capital across Europe. Clement also has significant experience in the real estate brokerage industry in France.
Outside of work, Clement enjoys reading, practicing sports, playing guitar, and participating in volunteer opportunities to give back to his community.
ANDREW MERICLE
US Development Manager
Andrew joined Volta Global as Development Manager, working with the Investment team to analyze potential sites with high-level feedback as well as preliminary site design. He also works with our design professionals and general contractors to shepherd projects forward through design and construction.
Andrew received his BA in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and holds a Professional Engineering license in Virginia and North Carolina. Prior to joining Volta Global, he worked in consulting engineering for 16 years, gaining extensive experience in site design and construction management.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys staying active through volleyball and spending time with his wife and their four children.
MATT BAKER
US Operations Manager
Matt Baker joined Volta Global as Operations Manager for our self-storage portfolio. Matt is responsible for Volta Global’s internally managed self-storage locations. Additionally, he assists in the development, sourcing, and construction process for conversion and ground-up sites.
Matt graduated with a BS in Hotel/Restaurant Management from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He has been in the self-storage industry for 15 years and brings experience as a manager at both the site and district levels.
In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, traveling (he has visited all 50 states), attending concerts, and visiting any Disney park.
ERLIN VELASQUEZ
Financial Manager
Erlin joined Volta Global as an accounting manager, bringing a wealth of accounting and administrative experience to the team. In her role, Erlin manages all aspects of Volta Global’s monthly accounting and financial reporting.
Prior to joining Volta Gobal, Erlin spent a decade of her career working in media and private equity real estate firms managing funds of over $800 million, where she honed her accounting and financial management skills.
Erlin holds an MBA from the University of Miami and a BA in Finance from Florida International University. Outside of her professional pursuits, Erlin has a passion for giving back to the community. She actively volunteers with children in foster care, enjoys water activities, and explores her creative side by working with flowers.
ROXANNA MONTOYA
Office Manager & Bookkeeper
Roxanna joined Volta Global in a hybrid role as the Office Manager and Bookkeeper. She is responsible for the company’s day-to-day administrative duties, maintaining financial records, and supporting the financial and operational teams. Her previous job experiences in office management and accounting have tailored her skills to be able to maintain organization and precision in her multi facet role.
Roxanna holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and is looking to begin her pursuit of a Masters degree in Finance. She is eager to continue learning and gaining more knowledge as she develops in her career. Outside her professional scope, Roxanna is passionate about art, music, and fitness. She enjoys being outside in the sun, and one of her favorite activities is going to sunrise yoga on the beach.

Riccardo joined Volta in June 2022. He is responsible for deal sourcing and underwriting and he supports the development and asset management activities across Europe and United States.
Prior to Volta, Riccardo worked for one of the largest Italian real estate asset management companies, where he was involved in various real estate transactions on behalf of both domestic and international investors, for over $300 million in total consideration.
Riccardo holds a master’s degree in Corporate Finance from SDA Bocconi School of Management, a MS in Finance from Fordham University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan. In his free time, Riccardo enjoys sports, in particular football, which he practiced as a referee. He also enjoys scuba diving, traveling, and playing the piano.

Alex joined 1Box as Operations Manager in France. He has over 20 years of experience in profit center management and more than 10 years of experience in sales management in France, including in the self-storage industry. Alex oversees store operations at 1Box France, including the daily management of the firm’s store managers and other store-level employees.
Alex has a business background with a specialization in sales. Prior to joining 1Box, Alex was Head of Sales for the leader in mobile telephony and internet in the French market, and worked in the self-storage industry in France.

Guillaume joined 1Box as Development Manager in France. He has over 12 years of experience in France as a real estate transaction and investment professional. Guillaume oversees the real estate development of the platform as well as execution of the asset management strategy.
Prior to joining 1Box, Guillaume was a district manager for a leading commercial real estate transaction firm in Paris. He also co-founded an investment vehicle specializing in office buildings. Guillaume studied aeronautics and aerospace engineering.

Managing Director - 1Box France
Fabien has over 25 years of experience in operations, development and team management within the self-storge industry. As Managing Director for 1Box France, Fabien is responsible for the strategy and execution of the 1Box strategy in France, overseeing investment and operation activities.
Prior to joining 1Box, Fabien was the Director of Operations and a founding shareholder and board member at a major French self-storage company set up in 2003. As such, he supervised the entire operations division, as was also involved in the development of all of the 27 sites of the company (consisting of 80% new build and 20% conversion). Prior to such role, Fabien had worked his way up from site manager to regional manager for 3 sites (Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse) at a European self-storage company which he had helped launch.
Fabien has a degree in accounting and began his professional career at an accountancy firm where he dealt with the management of the Campanile hotels in England.

Jean-Jacques joined Volta Global to participate in the development in France of 1Box, our European Self Storage platform. Jean-Jacques brings his expertise in construction, capital expenditure estimates, and asset management. He also contributes to sourcing new acquisition opportunities.
Prior to join Volta Global and for most of his career, Jean-Jacques was an entrepreneur as a construction contractor and real estate investor. He is French, and has lived in the US since 2006.
When he is not working, Jean-Jacques likes spending time with his family and friends, running, and practicing martial arts. He is also an artist with a passion for painting, which he has practiced since a teenager.

Jan Bikker
Managing Director - 1Box Netherlands
Jan has over 25 years of self storage operations, acquisition, and development experience in Europe. Jan operated across the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Spain as the Development Director for Devon self storage, leading the growth and oversight of that platform until its eventual exit. Jan worked in leadership roles in City Box, and personally managing sites of his own in the Netherlands, founder of 1BOX, before partnering with Volta Global on the 1Box platform. Jan currently oversees most high-level management functions at 1Box, and also serves as the Chairman of the Netherlands Self Storage Association NSSA.
He is a structural engineer specializing in commercial real estate and complex concrete structures. Has taken constructing and remodeling as a passion. After his structural engineering studies he obtained the diploma for broker appraiser BOG. Has a wide network of relationships at national and international level.
Jan has a love for France, the French habits, the landscape but above all the French life. In addition, he is always interested in new technical developments. Is committed to the less fortunate children and is therefore involved in the charity "Joy for Children".

JASPER BOS
Managing Director - 1Box Netherlands
Jasper is as a Managing Director responsible for the strategy of the organization in the Netherlands, where he oversees investments and asset and development management.
Jasper has over 15 years of experience in real estate investments by private owners, private equity, and institutions, and in building portfolios and organizations. Before joining 1Box, Jasper was Head of Asset Management of a Dutch real estate developer and was responsible for the portfolio strategy of 13,000 residential units. He was also responsible for the biggest residential transaction in the Netherlands, a €1.4 billion project with 9,500 residential units.
Jasper holds a master’s degree in real estate from the Amsterdam School of Real Estate and a Bachelor’s degree in real estate from HBO Nederland Amsterdam.
Outside of work, Jasper enjoys running, mountain biking, barbecuing, and having fun with his two boys and his friends.

Tom is 1BOX CFO and responsible for the financial planning and strategic alignment of the organization in Europe. He oversees the company's investments, capital structure, treasury management and aligns both internal and external stakeholders.
Tom has over 15 years’ experience working in various different financial roles within the financial services sector where he worked with institutional investors, private equity firms and corporates. Before joining 1Box, Tom gained experienced in the real estate sector working as a manager in the Stategy and Transactions practice of EY before joining a scale-up as CFO where he contributed to the global expansion of the company.
Tom holds a master’s degree in accounting from Maastricht University.

JURGEN BULTERMAN
Director of Operations - 1Box Netherlands
Jurgen joined 1Box as Operational Manager and was promoted to Director of Operations in 2022. Jurgen is responsible for the 1Box operations strategy in the Netherlands. He is responsible for the operational teams on a daily basis, development of operations staff, migration of acquired companies and sales strategy.
Before joining 1Box, Jurgen worked as a District Manager in the largest districts of Shurgard, Amsterdam and The Hague. Prior to that Jurgen worked for two global leading and listed HR service companies as a consultant, Area Manager and Business Unit Manager. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in HR from the Haarlem Business School and attended the International Adecco Executive Leadership Program.
Outside of work, Jurgen is an amateur author. He wrote and published a war novel called Duister Meesterschap (Dark Mastery). He has a soft spot for history and psychology, and enjoys skiing and travel.

Sigrid van der Wel
Marketing Manager - 1Box Netherlands
As Marketing Manager at 1Box in the Netherlands, Sigrid brings 25 years of experience in marketing and communications, having worked across a wide range of sectors including technology, finance & data, consultancy, events, and yachting.
Starting her career at Cisco Systems, she has developed a versatile skill set with experience in both national and international markets. With a keen eye for process optimization and growth opportunities, Sigrid combines curiosity, determination, and passion to consistently drive strategic goals and deliver results. Sigrid is excited to contribute to the continued success of 1Box, collaborating with the team to bring new ideas and solutions.
Outside of work, Sigrid enjoys the lively atmosphere of Utrecht’s cafes, often spending time there with her family (including two children) or friends. She is passionate about staying active, whether mountain biking, hitting the gym, or hiking during holidays. In addition to skiing and playing hockey, Sigrid loves ice skating when the weather allows.

Kaj Deana
Investment Manager - 1Box Netherlands
Kaj is responsible for pursuing growth opportunities via overseeing new acquisition sourcing and underwriting in the Netherlands, as well as market research on expansion of the 1Box portfolio into Belgium and Germany. His activities consist of networking with on-market and off-market sellers, market research, underwriting, due diligence and execution of new acquisitions.
Before joining 1Box Kaj held several positions at FGH Bank, ABN AMRO Asset Management, Rabo Real Estate Investment Management and Heimstaden. He has experience working in numerous countries throughout Europe. Kaj holds a Master’s degree in International Economics and Real Estate Economics at the Utrecht University and the University of Amsterdam.

Adriënne van Bogget
Office Manager - 1Box Netherlands
As Office Manager, Adrienne is responsible for the administration and HR department. Besides the usual administrative tasks such as invoices and purchasing, she makes sure that colleagues are provided with the right help and supplies so that work can be carried out optimally. She also organizes 1Box company events.
Adrienne has held administrative positions at a software company, where she supported the service and training departments. She gained the necessary self storage knowledge as a Store Manager at Extrabox, which was acquired by 1Box in 2020.
Adrienne volunteers with sports club organizations, enjoys walking her dog, and values socializing with family and friends.

JOEY VAN DE MERBEL
Project Manager - 1Box Netherlands
Joey joined 1Box as Project Store Manager and became a full-time Project Manager in 2022. Joey is responsible for managing complex operational projects at 1Box. He monitors revenue maximization, store manager performance, and is the troubleshooter for various software programs 1Box uses. He also implements multiple operational necessities to ensure new stores have a perfect opening.
Prior to joining 1Box, Joey was in charge of one of Europe's largest self storage locations, where he gained valuable operational experience.

BRETT BIRCHETTE
US Real Estate Project Manager
Prior to joining Volta Global in July 2024 as Real Estate Project Manager, Brett worked in the commercial construction industry as a Project Manager on the General Contracting side, with a large focus on hospitality, and as a Development Director focusing on new construction hotels for a North American top 10 hospitality developer-owner.
Brett is focused on working with our General Contractors and operations team to ensure each project is brought in with the quality and performance we expect while staying on schedule and within budget.
Brett holds a BS from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Construction Management from Louisiana State University.

Rosa is responsible for financial analysis, including budgeting, cash flow and quarterly reporting.
Prior to joining 1Box, Rosa worked for five years as a financial manager at a smaller organization, where she was responsible for setting up the finance department within the organization and improving its processes.
Outside of work, Rosa enjoys reading, practicing sports, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She also occasionally participates in various volunteer projects.

Communications Manager
Tim has more than 35 years of experience in investor relations, marketing, portfolio management, and financial analysis at several leading global financial firms. He is the co-author of Frontier Investor: How to Prosper in the Next Emerging Markets, which Michael Spence, Nobel Prize Winner in Economics, hailed as "brilliant” and “a tour de force.” Prior to Volta Global, Tim worked with Marko for nearly 20 years at a predecessor global investment firm, heading its marketing and investor relations efforts.
Tim earned an MBA degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in economics, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Princeton University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Tim and his wife live in Miami, Florida, where they volunteer as docents at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden when they are not visiting their three adult children. Tim also serves on the board and plays French horn with the Greater Miami Symphonic Band.

DEBORAH LIPSZYC
General Counsel & Chief of Staff
Déborah joined Volta Global as General Counsel Europe and Chief of Staff in 2024. As General Counsel, Déborah is responsible for overseeing all legal matters across all of Volta Global’s European investments and operations. As Chief of Staff, Deborah works closely with Volta Global’s executive team to oversee the implementation of strategic business initiatives, assist with decision-making, review and develop improvements to organisational procedures and act as a connector to promote the success of the whole organisation.
Prior to joining Volta Global, Deborah was a senior associate in the real estate finance team of a prominent London-based law firm, which she had joined after over 8 years at a magic circle firm (in Luxembourg, then London). During her time working at law firms, she worked on over €3 billion in financing volume, advising both major property owners and lenders on the financing of all types of commercial and residential real estate assets throughout Europe, including data centres, self-storage sites, life sciences locations and hospitals.
Déborah holds an LLM in International Legal Studies from New York University (as a Fulbright scholar) and a Master’s Degree in Anglo-American Business Law from University Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Outside of work, Déborah is the mother of two young boys and acts as the deputy chair of the governor body of an inner London primary school. In her free time, Deborah can usually be found at a pilates class, tasting phenomenal cheeses, at the theatre or at a gallery.

Fabien has over 25 years of experience in operations, development and team management within the self-storge industry. As Managing Director for 1Box France, Fabien is responsible for the strategy and execution of the 1Box strategy in France, overseeing investment and operation activities.
Prior to joining 1Box, Fabien was the Director of Operations and a founding shareholder and board member at a major French self-storage company set up in 2003. As such, he supervised the entire operations division, as was also involved in the development of all of the 27 sites of the company (consisting of 80% new build and 20% conversion). Prior to such role, Fabien had worked his way up from site manager to regional manager for 3 sites (Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse) at a European self-storage company which he had helped launch.
Fabien has a degree in accounting and began his professional career at an accountancy firm where he dealt with the management of the Campanile hotels in England.
Outside of work, Fabien is an avid golfer, skier and tennis player and loves traveling with his wife and two children.
